Research consistently shows that most people around the world share that concern. The good news is that we already have the technical and economic solutions.
What we need are leaders willing to stand up to powerful companies like Georgia Power, which keeps burning expensive, polluting, planet-warming fossil fuels and ignoring cheaper clean energy, all to maximize profits.

This is an exciting moment for Georgia. Many candidates running in Georgia are ready to take the bold action we need. We feature several of the most important races on our Who We Support page. Two stand out: Peter Hubbard, a clean energy expert, and Shelia Edwards, a proven public advocate, are running for the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC).
The five-member PSC regulates Georgia Power. For decades, its majorities have rubber-stamped nearly every fossil fuel request the company has made and let it slow-walk the transition to clean energy. Electing Peter and Shelia would create a majority that acts in the public interest and protects our health, our air, our water, and our climate.
There’s one big obstacle: most people don’t know the PSC exists, and many who don’t will leave that part of the ballot blank. That’s where you come in. Please watch and share the videos below, as well as others on our Videos to Share page. When people understand what’s at stake, they will vote for Peter, Shelia, and other candidates who will take the action we need.
In this direct plea, young Georgians ask adults to spend a few minutes learning about the urgency of the climate crisis, the exciting solutions within reach, and why voting for leaders who champion those solutions is the most powerful action they can take.
Sharing this video is a quick and easy way to make a difference. Young people can send it to the important adults in their lives, and adults can pass it along to others, with a note like: “Our youth are speaking to us about an issue that will shape their future. We should listen.”
Georgia Power is massively expanding its use of fossil fuels, almost entirely to feed power-hungry data centers. This video shows what’s happening and why it matters. We can stop it by voting in leaders who will hold Georgia Power accountable.
